Outlook Error HTTP 404 "We Can't Connect You"

Recently, we have noticed a few of our computers have this annoying error with Outlook, which then seems to spread to other Office apps.


We have tried everything from repairing and reinstalling Office, checking for network issues, creating a new Outlook profile, removing/adding accounts... Nothing seems to work.


Until we came across this fix... give it a try if you seem to be struggling with the same issue:


Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings > Check box "Auto detect settings" > OK


(Note) You may need to cycle the "Automatically detect settings" check box for the fix to work


After these steps, reboot the computer.
